Meals / Exercise for the Day

Breakfast: two eggs, 1/2 c. cheese, two slices of toast, a tbsp of jam.

Lunch: 1 tortilla, two slices ham, 2 tbsps cream cheese, 1 tbsp jam, one slice chocolate pie, 4 strawberries.

Snacks: 1 1/2 in by 1 in piece of brownie, a small bite of rice crispie treat, two bites of pepperoni pizza, and a 1/2 c of ice cream (samoa)

Dinner: (might as well be honest here) a big bowl full of chicken, ham, ravioli, veggies, and pesto cream sauce, and about 10 tator tots. The chicken was about a breast and a little more, about 1 oz of ham, and way too much sauce. Also had a couple tablespoons of ranch with it.

These teachers look different

I recently started substitute teaching in a new district. When I walked into one of their schools for the first time, what did I see? These teachers look nothing like _____ school district. In ___ district, often I will encounter 2 or 3 teachers who are obese or overweight. But in this new district, half the staff are shaped like me! Half the staff are fat!

So, why haven't I been offered a job in ______ district?

Weight Discrimination in the Work Force

I've decided to purpose a study on job discrimination related to weight. Now, what do you think of a person who was a high school salutatorian, graduated magna cum laude from college, an over-achiever, has above average test scores, and received remarkably high marks on internship evaluations? One who is always praised by employers as being pro-active, efficient, organized, dependable, courteous with customers, and always goes above and beyond what is required? This person who, part of the year, participates in some part of an exercise program? How can a person with all of these qualifications get along with NO job offers what so ever? Does something seem amiss? When you think of someone who is organized and a high-achiever, what picture comes to mind? Glasses, thin, always busy?

What do you see?
